DeWitt has always believed in making golf fun and exciting for all ages and skill levels. This has carried over into his golf course design philosophy.

"I believe a golf course should think for the player," Weaver said.  "A player should be able to use feel to picture shots with his or her imagination and not get caught up in guessing what the hole does or where the hole goes.  I want golfers to stand on any one of my tees and get a rush of exhilaration in picturing where they are going to hit the ball."

Weaver believes golfers are drawn to courses with character and courses that allow the player to use his or her imagination as well as ability. 

"They're not always going to hit the shot they're picturing, but I guarantee they'll have fun imagining it!" he added. "Every player wants the feeling of making that one great shot.  I am a true believer that spectacular golf holes allow you to picture and ultimately hit spectacular golf shots."
